Some streetwear designs clearly reference their inspiration, while others do not. However, since they are primarily meant for everyday wear, maintaining a "basic feel" is crucial in both cases.
In the former case, this can be achieved by selecting a base design, but in the latter, the design process can potentially lead far away from what is considered normal clothing. Therefore, a technique is needed to retain that basic sensibility. When that touch is well-executed, we find ourselves wanting it.
This hoodie definitely has that feel.
